Driver Choice nForce 2 and 3
|
1.) The Nvidia nForce Driver setup routine
doesn't start or only runs fragmented.
If
any interruption to the set up routine takes place the black
Nvidia Window
will close soon after starting setup.
2.) You
will only partially notice that the setup routine has run
fragmented in so far
as files can't be found or necessary Windows components are not
found.
Cause
of error:
You
will often acertain an error in combination with older Realtek
audio drivers.
Solution:
Remove the Realtek audio driver, preferably completely using a
software
tool like Driver
Cleaner [Link]
Afterwards try to start the Nvidia nForce Setup again.
Partially successful as help is when you start and run the Nvidia
nForce setup in
Windows 98 compatible mode.
Definitely
helpful is: When you manually integrate all of the drivers.
See the "FAQ List" on the Driver page to see how to do
this.
Cause
of error:
Old
Nvidia nForce driver register entries prevent the setup routine
from starting.
Solution:
Completely remove all Nvidia nForce registery entries.
Use for this: Driver Cleaner [Link]
Afterwards try to start the Nvidia nForce Setup again.
In
case this doesn't funtion an emergency remedy is to maually
integrate all of the
drivers. See the "FAQ List" on the Driver page to see
how to do this.
Cause
of error:
The Nvidia nForce Driver installation runs fragmented. See error
messages No. 2
Informing that Windows files can't be found.
This
error should only arise with the nForce Audio Driver.
The cause is usually an old Direct X or Direct X package with
errors.
Solution: Repeat the
Windows Direct X installation or upgrade to the most recent
version.
The
nForce Audio Driver requires Direct X components in order to
function correctly.
Caution:
This error solution only applies if you have received error
messages
stating that files couldn't be found.
It has nothing to do with the error of unrecognised Hardware in
the Device Manager,
after you have run the nForce Setup Driver routine.
This error is described [here] and has a
different solution. This problem is also listed
in the FAQ.
