Memory allocation on nForce 2

Dual Channel Mode

To use ''Dual Channel'' mode on nForce 2 , you must to bring memory modules
in the correct memory slots.

Important an correct memory slot allocation and an identical memory megabite
size placement.
Memory controller (A) and (B) should always administer the same number in
memory megabite.
Memory Controller A and B

The Ram Slots position itself on the
mainbaord always immediately there.

Two closely standing together Slot on the left.
= One memory controller

A single separately standing Slot on the right.
= One memory controller

Both memory controller are to equip with
the same number Megabite.!
Oddly megabite distribution entails an
unfavorable controller behavior.

Of ideal way the memory slots should be equipped in order.
Two Ram modules on Slot 1 and 2. The naming can also begin with 0, then
Slot 0 and 1 would be correct.
The naming of the memory slots with No is described in the mainboard manual.
Then the assembly either on the left outside and can be correct on the right, or
on the left concentric plus on the right outside.
This is different according to mainboard manufacturer.

With three memory modules one simply pays attention to the rule of the identical
megabite distribution on 2 memory controller.
Fitting examples would be, for example:
- On controller (A) two 256 MB and on controller (B) one 512 MB module.
- On controller (A) two 512 MB and on controller (B) one 1024 MB module.

If one keeps to the rules, is dual channel on a mainbaord it supports dual channel
himself actively. In the BIOS nothing is to be set up.

Who would like to check whether with him dual channel is active, can do simply
with the program CPU-Z.
Click in the programm window on "Memory" , at the top on the right the word
"dual" is visible if dual channel is actively.

Fundamentally every main memory is dual channel capable.
Dual channel is no quality of the memory himself, the ability comes from the
mainboard memory controller.
